David Wallace Crowder was born on November 29, 1971, in Texarkana, Texas, the son of an insurance salesman and a social worker. He says that he grew up attending to Elvis, Willie Nelson, Olivia Newton-John, and Bill Gaither.
David Crowder is known by his stage name Crowder since 2012, is an American Contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & author.
He was the lead vocalist in the now obsolete David Crowder Band before he started his solo career in 2012 on sixstepsrecords and Sparrow Records labels.
He released his 1st solo album Neon Steeple on May 27, 2014. Crowder released his first solo single off the album, “I am“, on November 25, 2013, which rose to the No. 3 position on the Christian Songs chart.
American Prodigal, Crowder’s 2nd solo album, was out on September 23, 2016, and his third, I Know a Ghost, on November 9, 2018.

David Crowder was born in Texarkana, Texas, on November 29, 1971, where his father was Daniel Wallace Crowder and mother was Marian Elizabeth Crowder.

However, his younger brother, Stephen Edward and David Crowder were raised together by their parents.
He went to college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
With Baylor being a Christian college, David was amazed to find out that many of the pupils didn’t join the church. His cure?
He started one with a friend named Chris Seay! University Baptist Church was born in 1995 to make church (and Jesus) rather the 20th something students would not just come to and relish, but share to.
He was the lead vocalist of the David Crowder Band that started in 1996 and split in 2012 when Crowder started his solo career on sixstepsrecords which was a name of Sparrow Records.
During the band’s time together they released 16 singles through 6 studio albums, 2 live albums, 4 EPs and a compilation album.
Neon Steeple, the first solo album of Crowder was released on May 27th, 2014. Later, on 25th November 2015, the lead single, “I Am”, was released which charted Number 3 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart.
“Come as You Are” attained a Grammy selection in 2015 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.
The album was first scheduled for issue on 18th February 2014, but was pressed back due to “inevitable conditions”. Crowder began his countrywide Neon Steeple trip on September 30, 2014.
His another solo album, American Prodigal, was out on 23rd September 2016. The first single, “Run Devil Run”, was out on June 18, 2016. “Forgiven” was out as the second single on March 17, 2017.
